Course Format

We wanted to deliver as much as possible of the teaching face to face, because we believe it to be the most effective way of doing so.

But, at the same time, we had to come up with something that would make it easy for people from different countries to attend.

The solution that in our view best addresses both issues is the following course format – a combination of face-to-face and online teaching.

How does it work?

1 - Face to Face teaching

The course starts with an intensive, one-week, residential seminar from 7th to 13th of September. Book now and get €500 off!

The seminar will be held in the Marriott Hotel - Brussels. On Sunday 7th we’ll have a welcome cocktail reception and on 13th a fair well lunch – all included in the price paid for the course. Click here to check The Marriott’s special rate for EADIM students.

During the week, well-known personalities of the International Direct and Interactive Marketing industry – all of whom are experienced teachers, too – will cover the essential topics requested by the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing, delivering 48 hours of face-to-face training. Just click here to know more about the teachers.

2 - Assignment

At the end of the face-to face phase, you will be given an assignment (project) that will have to be delivered by December 15th. You should spend at least 20 hours on the task.

Each assignment will be individually checked, marked and returned to you by April 2009.

3 – Webinars

The remaining teaching hours will be delivered through live webinars.

What are webinars and how do they work?

Basically it is an on-demand web conference that combines the ease of audio conferencing with the interactivity of live video conferencing directly from your desktop, creating a truly personalized interactive experience.

You will learn from teachers across the world—as easily as if you were side by side.

You’ll just have to go to a special, password protected web address at the scheduled time to listen and communicate live with your tutors and colleagues.

All the webinars will be recorded and saved as video files, complete with the Powerpoint presentation so you can download them and play them back as many times as you wish.

There's no software or hardware to buy. We will send you an invitation with all the details via e-mail and the webinar starts with one click of your mouse.

How will we monitor your presence?

Together with the invitation you’ll receive a password that allows you to sign in and join the webinars. The moment you sign in we are able to monitor your presence.

In addition, after every webinar you will have to answer questions about the subject discussed. These questions are not marked.

4 – General Assignment Debrief

You will also have the opportunity to learn from everybody’s mistakes during a general assignment debrief session in April 2009.

The most common mistakes found by the tutors on the assignments will be analysed via a special webinar session (but don’t worry, names won’t be mentioned) and the “right answers” will be given.

5 – Questions and Answers Session

Your feedback will be encouraged throughout the course, both through personal email contact with the tutors and through planned Q&A sessions.

Throughout the year 9 webinar sessions of 1.5 hour each will be given by one of the tutors and you will have the opportunity to ask clarifications, explanations – anything you want to know.

A sense of community will also be encouraged through the EADIM’s forum page available for discussion boards on the website. Book now and get €500 off!

6 – Revision

In preparation for the exam you will be given a 20 hour assisted revision through live webinars.

We’ll offer 10 2-hour long webinars right through the month prior to the exam.

7 - Exam

A 6.5 hours exam will take place in September 2009 in Brussels.

The exam will consist of a case study for which you will have to write a marketing plan, including budget and Life Time Value calculation, plus a piece of creative to review, and 8 open questions, one for each of the modules you have attended.

To be able to take the exam you must have attended 80% of the course.

The exam results will be available in Jan 2010. The course will finish with an optional graduation ceremony in March 2010.
